Cardiologist
- Professor Roy Gardner is a Consultant Cardiologist with a special interest in advanced heart failure and complex devices at the Scottish National Advanced Heart Failure Service at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in the United Kingdom.
- He is an Honorary Professor at the University of Glasgow, Chair of the British Society for heart failure and a scientific advisor and clinical expert for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).
- Professor Gardner also serves on several European Society of Cardiology (ESC) committees (including as Taskforce coordinator of the 2021 heart failure guidelines).
- He serves as author and editor of the Oxford Specialist Handbook of Heart Failure and Oxford Textbook of Heart Failure as well as part of the editorial advisory board for Biomarkers in Medicine. In addition to his numerous appointments, Professor Gardner is actively involved in clinical research, particularly in heart failure.
